Community film shows

The club has presented several shows of nostalgic local films at local venues in and around the area including this one at The Newsome Centre, formerly St John's Church, Newsome, in June 2025 which was attended by an audience of around 50 local people.

Annual General Meeting 2026

The Annual General Meeting took place on Friday April 10, 2025, and involved the re-election of club officials, approval of the club accounts and discussions about future club meetings.

Recent meetings

On the evening of Thursday April 30, a small group of members took a selection of films by the late David Whitworth to be shown to Mercury Movie Makers at Rawdon.

Our May 8 meeting included a selection of winning films from a North East IAC competition and one of our past annual Huddersfield magazine films.

Bob Lorrimer brought along an entertaining and amusing selection from his years of film-making for our meeting on June 12.

Chairman's Challenge

This year's Chairman's Challenge theme is "Past and Present" which should provide a broad range of ideas for your films to be shown at our meeting on September 11, 2026.

Our annual Short Film Competition is being held on the same afternoon.

Please let Stewart know if you have films for either or both of these. A competition entry form can be completed on the day.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions for 2026-7 are at an unchanged rate (£20 single, £25 couples).
